Murder and Manslaughter

Losing someone through violent crime is devastating.

In the immediate aftermath of the event you may have strong and overpowering feelings such as shock, disbelief, numbness and panic.  You may feel overwhelmed by thoughts of what is going to happen next.

Everyone experiences bereavement differently and often feelings change from day to day; you may feel angry, guilty, depressed and at times even suicidal.

Victim Support staff and specially trained volunteers are here to provide emotional support to people bereaved by violent crime.

We can also help you to sort out practical matters that may be difficult to cope with after of a sudden loss, helping you deal with the demands and pressures of such a difficult time.  If you need it, we can provide you with information on the Criminal Justice System. For example, the police investigation, the role of the Coroner, and what will happen in Court.

The full range of services we offer is there for you to use.  Just call and we will arrange whatever form of help you feel you need the most.

Although life will never be the same again, things can and will get better.
